Slack install error

Something went wrong installing the SolidPing Slack app. The error reason from the URL points you to the right section below.

Your install link expired or was already used​

Reason code: state_invalid

Slack install links are single-use and short-lived. If you reloaded the install page, used the back button, or waited too long between clicking "Add to Slack" and approving the permissions, the link is no longer valid.

What to do: click Try again above to start a fresh install.

Slack didn't share your email address​

Reason code: email_missing

We use your Slack email to create or recognise your SolidPing account. Some Slack accounts — guests, single-channel guests, and certain Enterprise Grid configurations — don't expose an email address through the OAuth scopes we request.

What to do:

  • Ask a workspace admin to verify that the SolidPing app has been granted the users:read.email scope.
  • Or, if you'd rather not link Slack at all, sign up with email and password from the SolidPing dashboard, and connect Slack as an integration afterwards.

Slack returned an error during install​

Reason code: oauth_failed

The OAuth handshake with Slack failed. This is usually transient — for example, you cancelled the install on the Slack permissions screen, or there was a network glitch between Slack and our servers.

What to do:

  • Click Try again above. Most of the time, a second attempt works.
  • If the failure keeps happening, contact support and include the approximate time the failure occurred (UTC) and your Slack workspace ID.

Other / unknown reason​

Reason code: anything else, or none.

If you reached this page without one of the reason codes above, something unexpected happened on our side.

What to do:

  • Click Try again above.
  • If it doesn't work on a second attempt, contact support so we can investigate.
