Data deletion instructions

Last updated: August 21, 2026

This page tells you how to have your personal data deleted from the SolidPing hosted service. It is written to be read on its own: everything you need is below, and nothing here requires you to have an account open.

The short version

Email contact@solidping.io from the address on your account, with the subject "Data deletion". We delete your personal data and confirm within 30 days. There is no form to fill in and no charge.

If you run the open-source SolidPing software on your own servers, we hold none of your data and there is nothing for us to delete — see Self-hosting & GDPR.

Who to ask

Sending the request to the right place saves the most time.

Your situationWhere to send the request
You created your SolidPing account yourselfcontact@solidping.io
Your employer or a client gave you the accountTheir administrator or privacy contact — they control that data, not us
You only receive alerts from someone else's organisationThe organisation that added you
You subscribed to a status pageThe unsubscribe link in any status-page email, or the page owner

When a company uses SolidPing to monitor its systems, that company is the controller of everything inside its organisation and we act only on its instructions. If you write to us about data we hold as a processor, we will not ignore you: we forward the request to the controller without undue delay and tell you we have done so.

Delete it yourself, immediately

You do not have to wait for us for any of this. Each of these takes effect at once.

What you want goneHow
A phone number, WhatsApp number, email, or other alert addressDashboard → Account → Notifications → delete the contact
A Telegram connectionSend /stop to the bot, or delete the Telegram contact in the dashboard
An entire organisationDashboard → organisation settings → delete. Owner-only; you must re-type the organisation slug to confirm
The Slack or Discord appApps → SolidPing → Remove in your Slack workspace, or remove the bot from your Discord server
Product analyticsEnable Do Not Track, or decline analytics cookies — see the Cookie Policy

Deleting an organisation stops its checks immediately, removes scheduled probe jobs outright, revokes org-scoped tokens and sessions, and takes status pages, badges, and embeds offline.

Deleting a messaging channel

Each messaging channel is opt-in, and each one can be withdrawn on its own without affecting the others or your account.

WhatsApp

A WhatsApp contact stores the phone number you verified, the time you verified it, and the fact that verification succeeded. That record is both the proof you control the handset and our record of your consent to receive business-initiated messages.

Deleting the contact in Account → Notifications removes the number and its consent record, and we stop sending to it immediately. A WhatsApp contact is kept deliberately separate from an SMS contact even when the digits are identical — deleting one does not delete the other, so remove both if you want the number gone entirely.

Deleting the contact is the way to stop WhatsApp alerts — SolidPing does not act on replies sent to it over WhatsApp, so replying "STOP" to an alert will not remove you. You can additionally block the sender in WhatsApp itself, which stops delivery at Meta's end regardless of what we hold.

SMS and voice

Delete the phone contact in Account → Notifications, or reply STOP to any SolidPing SMS. See the SMS & Messaging Policy for the full opt-out vocabulary.

Telegram

A Telegram contact stores the numeric chat id of your conversation with the bot — never your @username. Send /stop to the bot or delete the contact in the dashboard, and the chat id is removed.

Slack and Discord

Uninstalling the app revokes our bot token at once, so we can no longer read or post anything. Where an administrator has matched you to a Slack user id so alerts can mention you, that identity — the user id and the display name captured when it was matched — is removed with the integration, or on request.

What we delete, and when

DataWhen it goes
Your account, profile, and authentication materialWithin 30 days of your request
Alert contacts (phone, WhatsApp, Telegram, email, push)Immediately when you delete the contact
Organisation data — checks, incidents, status pagesOn organisation deletion, then purged per the retention schedule
Slack / Discord workspace tokens and settings3 months after uninstall, or sooner if you ask
Authentication and audit logs12 months
BackupsOn their own rolling expiry — see below
Billing and accounting records10 years, where French commercial law requires it

Two limits worth stating plainly rather than burying:

Backups are not edited. They expire on a rolling schedule instead. Data in a backup is never restored into production after an erasure request — see DPA clause 12.

Shared operational history stays with the organisation. Incidents, checks, and comments other people created are the organisation's data, not yours alone. Your identity is removed from that record; the record itself remains with the organisation whose controller decides its fate.

Before you ask us to delete an account

If you are the sole owner of an organisation, delete or transfer that organisation first. Otherwise it would be left with no owner, and we would have to come back to you before we could act.

Making the request

Email contact@solidping.io and include:

  1. that you are asking for deletion (say so plainly — "delete my account", "erase my data");
  2. the email address or account the request concerns;
  3. anything that narrows it down — an organisation slug, a phone number, a date range.

How we verify you. Normally by requiring the request to come from the email address on the account. If it does not, we may ask for proportionate further proof — but we will not demand an identity document to confirm an email address we can verify another way.

How long we take. We confirm deletion within 30 days. For unusually complex or repeated requests the GDPR allows an extension of up to two further months; if we ever need it, we will tell you within the first month and explain why.

What it costs. Nothing.

If you are not satisfied

Tell us first — most problems are a misunderstanding we can fix the same day. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority at any time:

  • France: CNIL — 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07.
  • Elsewhere in the EEA: the authority where you live, where you work, or where the alleged infringement took place.

You may also seek a judicial remedy under Article 79 GDPR.
