Legal & GDPR
SolidPing is built and operated from France, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, "GDPR"). This page is the index of every legal and data-protection document we publish.
Start here: are you self-hosted or hosted?
The answer changes which documents apply to you, and who is legally responsible for what.
| Self-hosted SolidPing | SolidPing hosted (SaaS) | |
|---|---|---|
| Who runs the software | You, on your own infrastructure | WEBINGENIA SARL |
| Who is the controller | You | You (for your account and monitoring data) |
| Who is the processor | Nobody — we never see your data | WEBINGENIA SARL |
| Do you need a DPA with us | No | Yes — our DPA applies automatically |
| Which documents apply | Self-hosting & GDPR, the software licence | All of the documents below |
When you download and run the open-source SolidPing software yourself, no personal data reaches us. We are a software supplier, not a processor, and the GDPR does not put us in your processing chain. See Self-hosting & GDPR for what that means for your own compliance work.

Quick answers
Where is our data stored? The application, the database, and every backup are in France (OVHcloud, Gravelines). Monitoring probes additionally run from regional workers — including one in the United States — but those carry only the check definition and its result, and hold no database. See Sub-processors.
Do you sell data or use it for advertising? No. Never have, and it is not a business model we intend to adopt.
Do you have a DPO? We are not required to appoint one under Article 37. Data protection questions go to contact@solidping.io and are handled by the company's management.
Can I get a signed DPA? The DPA is incorporated into the Terms of Service and binds us as soon as you use the hosted service — no signature is needed. If your procurement process requires a countersigned copy, email contact@solidping.io.
Have you had a data breach? No breach has been notified to date. Our notification commitments are in Security measures.
